If you're looking to enhance your orchestral journey, join us at Sheffield Young Sinfonia, our dynamic full youth orchestra designed for musicians at around Grade 4-6 standard - although you don't have to be taking traditional grades to get involved!

We’re a vibrant, inclusive ensemble dedicated to helping each other grow as musicians while we explore wide-ranging and challenging repertoire, from timeless classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions. In our rehearsals, we create a supportive and friendly environment where we can experiment with our orchestral sound, work on musical interpretation, and build lasting friendships. Together, we share valuable learning experiences that prepare us for the advanced challenges of our senior orchestra.

You'll have the opportunity to perform in exciting venues, gaining confidence and stage presence as you tackle intricate pieces that push your boundaries. We welcome pupils with or without previous orchestral experience so come and give it a go!

What to expect at your first rehearsal

If you think it might help, please share the Young Person’s Rehearsal Timeline with your young musician. This will give them an idea of what to expect when they arrive, the rehearsal and what to do at the end. Hopefully it will help calm some nerves :)

Entry is via audition.
