St Andrew's Music Festival - Jazz Generations

Join us for “Jazz Generations”, an evening of big band music as youth big bands join semi professional big band “Sheffield University Big Band” on stage.

This unique concert showcases the vibrant energy of talented young musicians’ side by side. It is a celebration of the timeless spirit of big band music.

We are joined by “Sheffield Youth Big Band”, Sheffield Music Hubs big band which is led by Dave Burgoyne and made up of young players from across Sheffield and South Yorkshire. Following them we have “Hope Valley College Big Band”, a youth big band from the Peak Distract, led by Chris Burge and made up of some very talented young players.

Then finally our semi-pro big band, Sheffield University Big Band, led by Will Hepworth. They play a variety of genres, jazz, funk, swing, Latin and more and are regularly out and about in Sheffield playing a mixture of events. Today they are very happy to be giving back and helping do their part to keep the future of big bands strong!
