Chris Burge

Instruments: Brass

Chris began to play trombone at the age of 11. Whilst at school, he developed a passion for jazz music, inspiring him to go on to study at Leeds College of Music where he specialised in Jazz Performance.

Since graduating, he has performed throughout Europe as a freelance musician. This includes playing with function bands, pop horn sections, orchestras, big bands and recording work. 

Highlights include performing at the Royal Albert Hall, performing with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, recording the soundtrack for a Nintendo Wii game and playing for multiple national touring theatre shows. 

As a teacher Chris is experienced in teaching all brass instruments and has worked in both whole class and one to one instrumental tuition from beginner to post Grade 8. Currently Chris works with the Sheffield Music Hub Intermediate Jazz Group.
