Senior Strings

Advanced string orchestra for young musicians (usually in Y9 – Y13) who are around grade 5+ level. The group play a range of genres and styles, often collaborating with international guest artists and performing in venues which range from the finest concert halls to outdoor music festivals. Senior Strings is a sub group of Senior Orchestra and it is expected that you will attend both groups.
What to expect at your first rehearsal
If you think it might help, please share the Young Person’s Rehearsal Timeline with your young musician. This will give them an idea of what to expect when they arrive, the rehearsal and what to do at the end. Hopefully it will help calm some nerves :)
Entry is via audition
Children playing the following instruments are welcome:
- Cello
- Double Bass
- Viola
- Violin
