How to Join
Joining the Friends and Volunteers of Sheffield Music Hub (F&V) is a meaningful way to support music education and make a real difference in the lives of young people across Sheffield.
At Sheffield Music Hub, we believe that every child, regardless of race; gender; where they live; their levels of musical talent; parental income; whether they have special educational needs or disabilities; and whether they are looked-after children; deserves the very best music education. We offer bursaries for any family receiving Free School Meals, Universal Credit, Income Support, Income-based Job Seekers Allowance, or Working Tax Credit, or if a child is looked after. We couldn’t support young musicians across the city without the support of the Friends and Volunteers of Sheffield Music Hub. You can help provide music education for young people across Sheffield by joining F & V and becoming a:
Trustee
Trustees make decisions on behalf of the charity and must act collectively with a high level of commitment. They manage and oversee the affairs of the charity, ensuring it fulfils its mission and operates legally. Trustees meet twice per term, either in person or online, and occasionally hold additional meetings as needed. There are four Trustees currently – this is the minimum needed to keep the charity running. They are keen to recruit three more Trustees by Monday, 24th November 2025, so please get in touch soon! If you are interested in developing new skills, coordinating fundraising activities, or have communications expertise to help boost their social media presence, please contact smhfriendsandvolunteers@gmail.com for more information.
Volunteer
The Friends and Volunteers are looking for more volunteers to help support music education by assisting with concerts, workshops, and music programmes. Volunteers may choose their level of commitment, such as assisting occasionally at events or participating regularly in committee meetings and other tasks. They are a friendly network of parents, carers, grandparents, and music lovers who share a passion for enriching lives through music. Please email smhfriendsandvolunteers@gmail.com if you’d like to get involved or would like further information.
