The Children’s Chorus will be joining the exciting Sheffield Music Hub choir Junior Voices and Youth Voices for the rehearsals and performance on Friday 1st November and Saturday 2nd November.
We are looking for singers who want to join the Children’s Chorus for the semi - staged opera production at the world-famous Crucible Theatre.
The performances take place at the end of the October half term holidays with rehearsals taking place throughout September and October.
Singers do not need previous experience on stage or singing in a choir but need to bring a love for singing and the excitement of preparing an opera to be performed at the Crucible Theatre.
No audition is required but places may be limited to a first come first served basis depending on your voice type.
The cost of taking part is £55.
Participation is FREE if you:
- Are in receipt of free school meals
- Are Looked After
- Already attend a Music Group run by Sheffield Music Hub (Band A, B or C subscription)

Launch Weekend in Central Sheffield:
Sunday 1 September 10:30am – 4:30pm
Rehearsal commitment is as follows:
Sunday 29th September 2:30pm - 4:30pm
Sunday 13th October 2:30pm - 4:30pm
Sunday 20th October 2:30pm – 4:30pm
Sunday 27th October 10am - 4:30pm Full Cast Rehearsal
Tuesday 29th October 5:30pm-8:30pm Stage and Piano Rehearsal
Wednesday 30th 5:30pm-8:30pm Stage and Piano Rehearsal
Thursday 31st October 5:30pm- 8:30pm Dress Rehearsal
For the performances, the whole group will be split into two so each chorus will perform once each day.

Friday 1st November – PERFORMANCE 1 – 3pm Children’s Chorus 1
PERFORMANCE 2 – 7:15pm Children’s Chorus 2
Saturday 2nd November – PERFORMANCE 3 – 11:00am Children’s Chorus 1
PERFORMANCE 4 - 3:00pm Children’s Chorus 2
