Are you interested in playing different sized recorders from smallest to largest? Are you interested in learning different styles of music? We are a happy, lively bunch of young folk who enjoy playing the recorder. We have performed at the Victoria Hall in Sheffield, All Saints School, we read music notation, graphic notation and have recently improvised on a theme using advanced techniques.

Learn to play the descant recorder and explore all styles of music from Tudor Times up to Jazz, Pop and Rock. We are a group for beginner recorder players who haven't been playing for a long time but have got to grips with the basics. Join in and play with like-minded young musicians!

We asked some of our students what their favourite thing about the group is and this is what they said...

  • Favourite song/piece of music that we have played: Cannon by Thomas Tallis
  • Favourite game/activity that we do: Call and Response game - this is where Nigel plays something on the recorder and they either sing it or play it back.
  • Favourite venue we have played at: Sheffield's Victoria Hall

Children playing the following instruments are welcome:

  • Recorder
