Kirsten Beveridge (Piano/Keyboard/Saxophone)

Hi there, my name is Kirsten Beveridge and I am a piano and woodwind teacher with Sheffield Music Hub. I am from Scotland, and I studied my BMus degree at the University of Aberdeen. After working for a few years, including in the music departments of schools such as Gordonstoun and St Mary’s Ascot, I moved to Sheffield to come to uni and study on an MA Music Performance Studies course. I liked it here so much that I decided to stay! I play in local ensembles such as Sheffield Clarinet Ensemble and funk band Happy Daggers.

  • Favourite song/piece of music - ‘Martha’ by Tom Waits is a beautiful song.
  • Favourite thing to do outside of work - Play my saxophone, particularly in quartets or small ensembles.
  • Favourite food - Very hard to decide, but anything with cheese is a safe bet.
  • Favourite place in Sheffield - The Botanical Gardens are very pretty!
  • One thing about me that would surprise you to know - I am an identical twin – and she’s a woodwind player too!
