Ruth Nicholson

Instruments: Piano and violin

Ruth started learning the piano at 6 and the violin at 7, attended Sheffield Music School and the Junior Royal Northern College of Music while at school, and went on to study Music at Royal Holloway, with an instrumental scholarship at Exhibition to the Royal College of Music, followed by a Masters in Music in Development at SOAS.

Ruth now has an established career as a full-time musician back in Sheffield, with a wide portfolio of teaching, accompanying and performing work spanning many different genres. Ruth works in partnership with their students, responding to their needs, learning style and interests, and has worked with students towards ABRSM and Trinity exams.

Outside of music Ruth spends a lot of time outdoors, cycling and tending to their allotment.
