Top Winds Summer School!

Emily Wilson, clarinet teacher and leader of the Intermediate Wind Ensemble and Concert Band at our partners, Sheffield Music Academy, is inviting young musicians to take part in a three-day Flute and Clarinet Summer School in South Manchester this August.

Running from 4th to 6th August, the course is open to students aged 10–14 of all abilities. Each day runs from 10:30am to 3:30pm, with a final concert on the last day where students will perform a mix of solo and ensemble pieces, jazz, and their own compositions.

Alongside high-quality music-making, the course includes plenty of downtime with activities like table tennis and card games to keep students engaged and socialising.

Emily explains, “We tailor the music to suit each student’s ability, so whether they’re just starting out or more advanced, they’ll be supported and challenged. It’s a great way to keep up practice over the summer and enjoy the fun of ensemble playing.”

The course fee is £150, but significant bursaries are available for those who may need financial support.
