THE ORCHESTRA THROUGH THE AGES

Featuring set works for GCSE and A-level

The dedicated set works concert is returning for a second year on the request of teachers and music educators across the country. The Orchestra Through The Ages, to be conducted by Jonathon Heyward and presented by Tom Redmond, will take pupils from Year 9 through to sixth form on a guided tour of music from Baroque to film scores and will feature a number of orchestral pieces from the AQA, OCR, WJEC and Edexcel syllabi for GCSE and A-level music. The concert will give a brief history and musical analysis of these pieces and the evolution of the symphony orchestra, as well as feature soloists from the Royal Northern College of Music, all accompanied by the world-class Hallé. Throughout the concert, the orchestra will be captured on live camera feeds which will be displayed to the audience during each piece.

The Orchestra Through The Ages concert is a collaboration with The Bridgewater Hall and the Royal Northern College of Music.
