Putting young people at the heart of everything we do
At Sheffield Music Hub we are committed to putting young people at the heart of everything we do and yesterdays joyful concerts at Performance Venues Octagon Centre were a wonderful example of that!
During One Voice Christmas 2024 we gathered feedback from all the young singers so that we can learn how to make the experience better for them next year.
Our incredible Junior Ambassadors for Music were all go during our Octagon Spectacular. Bertie was busy organising the rehearsal timings for the evening (I think he enjoyed telling some of the adults off, and brandishing a snazzy clipboard).
The JAMs were passionately organising rehearsal timings and discussing how to organise the music groups in the holding rooms. The scripts for every concert have been co-collaboratively written with our young people. All speaking and announcements during our concerts are from our young people. This way they are practicing public speaking skills alongside their musical performances.
We are committed to Youth Voice. Our JAMs gathered feedback from our young musicians during the break in the concert. The feedback they have help us implement changes to make every concert the best experience possible for our young musicians!
