Wilf Dingle (Keyboard/Piano)

Hello, I’m Wilf and I am a Music Tutor here at Sheffield Music Hub. I grew up in Sheffield and took part in the Music Hub groups from beginner groups (Loxley Orchestra as it was then!) all the way through to Senior Orchestra and Festival Band, as well as Music Hub partner City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra. After school, I went to Cardiff where I studied Music. I am incredibly excited to be back in Sheffield and working for the Music Hub, tutoring piano and leading Intermediate Strings alongside the incredible Roz. I love sharing music with anyone and everyone, whether in a 1 to 1 lesson or in a big ensemble. I also love to compose music and hear new pieces that other people have written. My favourite memory with the Music Hub was getting to play at the Royal Albert Hall in London at Music for Youth. Outside of the Hub, I conduct Silver Spectrum Wind Band and often play with the many wonderful groups around the city.

Some things about me...

• Favourite piece of music: I love a big Mahler or Beethoven symphony, but my favourite piece would probably have to be Bach’s Chaconne in D minor for solo violin
• Favourite thing to do outside of work: I love to play cricket as much as I can, and if not then watch someone else playing!
• Favourite food: Can’t go wrong with a good pizza
• Favourite place in Sheffield: Longshaw Estate, or the Peak District.
• One thing about me that would surprise you to know: I played Puss in Boots in my church pantomime
