Carys Price (Brass)

Hello! I'm Carys and I teach Piano/Keyboard, Cornet/Trumpet/Flugelhorn, Tenor Horn and Baritone.

I'm originally from North Wales and moved here to study music at the University of Sheffield. I absolutely fell in love to the city and it's music scene, and have now made my home here.

Growing up I enjoyed getting involved with every music group available (I just couldn't get enough of it!) This included the Wrexham County Brass Band, Wind Band, Orchestra and Choir. Following a successful audition, I was also a member of the National Youth Brass Band of Wales.

Some things about me...

  • Favourite Song: This tends to change, but right now it's Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel (especially the live versions)
  • Favourite thing to do outside work: I enjoy rehearsing and playing gigs with my bands Good Damage and the Loxley Silver Band. I also have a great collection of retro video games to play on the weekend!
  • Favourite food: Chicken Jalfrezi
  • Favourite place in Sheffield: The Botanical Gardens - so many squirrels!
  • One thing about me that you would be surprised to know: I once briefly held the UK record for "Fastest Lap on Moo Moo Meadows" on Nintendo Switch
