Write a jingle for a Robot and Win Big: Uber Eats Jingle Competition Comes to Sheffield

Published on 24/03/2026

At Sheffield Music Hub we are proud to collaborate with Uber to judge the winning entry and open this incredible opportunity out to our young people.

  • Uber Eats is opening a new jingle competition to celebrate autonomous robot deliveries launching in Sheffield today
  • Chosen in collaboration with Starship Technologies, Sheffield Music Hub and the young people they support, the winning track will play whenever the Uber Eats fleet delivers to doorsteps across both Sheffield and Leeds.
  • Anyone can now submit their musical talents for the chance to win a prize package worth £5,000.

If you thought a six-wheeled robot navigating the pavement to bring you a burrito was futuristic, wait until it starts serenading you. Uber Eats is today launching the hunt for the undiscovered composer of a bespoke delivery robot jingle, putting a melodic twist on our autonomous delivery partnership with Starship Technologies.

Combining cutting-edge autonomous technology with a healthy dose of British humour, we are handing the ‘setlist’ over to the public. Starting today, anyone can submit their own 15-30 second long recordings of the track that the robot fleet will perform upon arrival at every doorstep, for a limited time. The nationwide search runs from today until 30 April, when Uber Eats will unveil the winning track and its composer - once the robots have had a chance to rehearse. And one more perk? We will award the newly discovered talent £3,000 and a year’s supply of Uber Eats credits (over £2,000).

As Uber Eats continues to roll out autonomous delivery services across the UK, the Robo-choir will continue to bring a bit of tech-led magic for Brits ordering food. To celebrate the launch of robot delivery in Sheffield this month, the entire fleet of digital-altos will be programmed to play a sample of the winning song, ensuring that locals’ sushi or sandwiches arrive with a crowdsourced soundtrack.

"We’ve already proven that robots are a key part of the future of efficient, high-tech delivery," said Merve Basci, General Manager of Uber Eats in the UK. "Now, we want to see if they can hold a tune. This moment is about more than just innovation; it’s about bringing a bit of unexpected joy to our customers’ doorsteps. Whether it’s a power ballad or a catchy hit, we’re letting the nation compose the soundtrack to their next takeaway."

"At Sheffield Music Hub we are always looking for new and innovative ways to help young musicians realise their creativity and musicality. We work with over 8000 children and young people every week in Sheffield and we are delighted to be sharing this opportunity with them and supporting this fun initiative, which enables young people to compose, create and celebrate their musicality!" Ian Naylor Head of Music Education Sheffield.

Whether you think a choral harmony suits a late-night grocery order or 80s synth style is the ultimate vibe for a Sunday roast, the choice is yours. Anyone is encouraged to submit their jingle - including choirs, schools and social clubs - so long as the applying representative is over 18 years old. To enter, simply email an Mp3 or Mp4 file of your jingle recording to uberjingles@hopeandglorypr.com , with a short intro (no more than 300 words) on why your entry should be the winner. Uber Eats, Starship Technologies and Sheffield Music Hub will be judging the entries, with the competition winner being revealed by 23:59, April 30 2026. Full competition T&Cs are here.

Uber Eats continues to lead the way in autonomous technology as the UK’s most advanced - and now, most musical - delivery experience.
