We’re so proud of our team!

Last Thursday, Ian Naylor, Head of Music Education, travelled to London with Music Leaders Andy Harris and Heather Burge for the Annual Music & Drama Education Awards, where we were shortlisted for two national awards—an incredible achievement in itself.

A huge thank you to Warwick Music/PBone Official for generously funding the team’s attendance.

Andy Harris – Instrumental Teacher of the Year (Shortlisted)
Andy was recognised for his groundbreaking work establishing a community brass band in Firth Park—a project that is not only thriving but transforming lives through brass music in Sheffield.

Heather Burge – Rocksteady Award for Progressive & Inclusive Music Education (Shortlisted)
In partnership with the Sheffield Virtual School, Heather has led a city‑wide programme of musical opportunities for looked‑after children. Working alongside social workers, carers, teachers, partners and schools, she ensures care‑experienced young people can access meaningful and joyful musical experiences.

While we didn’t take home the trophies this time, being recognised as finalists for such prestigious national awards is a testament to the passion and dedication of our exceptional team.

Huge congratulations to Andy and Heather - you make us incredibly proud.
