Keen to support emerging, talented young musicians, especially those who have traditionally been excluded from formal music education or who face barriers to participation and progression opportunities?
Do you want to work with a cutting-edge Music Service in partnership with Young Sounds UK?
We are seeking a talented and inspiring young professional to help us mentor talented young musicians on the Sheffield Music Service Connect Programme.
At Sheffield Music Service we support 50 young people who are both talented musicians and who face barriers to music education. We are aiming high for those young people and want a mentor who can inspire, challenge, and motivate our cohort of young people.

Our Young Sounds Connect Mentor will be contracted on a freelance basis by our partners Young Sounds UK (see attached role description)
The mentor will join a national network of inspiring mentors who work alongside the best music hubs and services in the country – all the partners are Ambassador Hubs for the connect programme which is delivering the DfE funded Music Opportunities Pilot.
The mentor will work alongside Rachel Greene, Sheffield Music Service Music Leader, and Connector for 2 hours a week, 35 weeks a year – an additional 60 hours a year is allocated for mentoring the young people on the programme. The mentor will also be expected to attend additional national training once a year. The pay is £20 per hour.
